Why PlayStation Move and Kinect will fail

The E3 press conferences have wrapped up nicely and both Sony and Microsoft have shown a dedication to motion control gaming with the PlayStation Move and Kinect respectively.  It seemed not too long ago when Sony ruled the gaming world and pundits considered Nintendo dead in the water.  Just four years after Nintendo’s Wii release, the tides have certainly shifted.  As the big dogs play catch up with the company that defined the words “entertainment system,” Sony and Microsoft showed that neither company fully comprehends what has set Nintendo apart this generation. Live E3 2010 Coverage – Nintendo Press Conference

Sony PlayStation Move Commerical – A Self-Inflicted Wound

PlayStation Move just received its official name and release date, so it was just a matter of time before it got its first commercial too.  Continuing the string of “Kevin Butler, VP of Everything” ads Sony’s been spamming the last year, the PlayStation Move spot pokes some serious jabs at the console market, particularly two not-so subtle ones directed at Nintendo’ Wii and Microsoft’s Natal.  However, the clincher flies under the radar.
